The new Morumbi Viaquatro station
Last Saturday, 27 October, our client ViaQuatro inaugurated a new subway station on Line 4 of the São Paulo Metro. It was an great event attended by several politicians in the area. The mayor of São Paulo, Bruno Covas; the State Deputy, Analice Fernandes; and numerous politicians from the city, as well as senior positions from the railway sector such as the President of Metro São Paulo, Clodoaldo Pelissioni, the President of ViaQuatro, Luiz Valença; Director of ViaQuatro, Mauricio Dimitrov; Francisco Pierrini, Director of the concessionary ViaMobilidade Linha 5, a company that belongs to the CCR Group that has recently been awarded the contract for operation of Line 5 of the São Paulo Metro for the next 20 years; and Jurandir Fernandes, President of UITP LATAM, among others ... All celebrated with the workers of ViaQuatro and neighbors of the western zone of São Paulo, for the inauguration of this new long-awaited station.
However and without a doubt, those who appreciated the inauguration the most were the fans of the São Paulo F.C. soccer team who can finally go to the Morumbi Stadium by subway, which gave its name to the new station. This will undoubtedly improve traffic in the area, above all on match days, in addition to relieving certain surrounding arteries that are regularly saturated.
This new station, although located at the end of the line, is expected to transit around 26,500 passengers per day, bringing the total number of ViaQuatro operations to 850,000 passengers per day. These significant quantities demonstrate two things: the importance of this backbone Metro line, making the metro essential to the city of São Paulo and the It's perfect management by the Viaquatro concessionary. It runs for a total of 11.3 km and 10 stations, and in 2020 will reach its final destination at the Vila Sônia station.
The Linha Amarela (Yellow line) was the first concession using the PPP model in Brazil as well as the first driverless Metro line In Latin America. This is a fine example of management success of the works and operation by the CCR Group, majority shareholder of the ViaQuatro Concessionary, who has succeeded in leading everything on the right track.
Here in LANDER we would like to congratulate the ViaQuatro company, and we are proud to have participated in their success by providing 2 LANDER driving simulators, dedicated to the training of their workers in the most varied emergency situations that could happen on the driverless line and that require maximum concentration and efficiency. We hope to continue this work together for many years, developing solutions that support the management of this exemplary operation in Latin America.
