VOLVO strengthens its commitment to road safety with the incorporation of driving simulators

Becoming a global exemplar of safety doesn’t happen overnight. A clear objective, together with a strong commitment to new technologies and constant innovation, are values that have without doubt helped VOLVO to reach the industry heights.

Its latest initiatives include an innovative driving simulator which has been developed recently in collaboration with LANDER.

To take this project forward, LANDER has offered VOLVO as much flexibility as possible in order to adapt the simulator to its needs. Specifically, the project has required a huge effort to modify the equipment to suit the specifications of the vehicles produced by the multinational VOLVO. LANDER has made significant adaptations to the simulator, including the addition of the steering wheel used in VOLVO trucks, the configuration of two interchangeable gear systems, the pneumatic hand lever and, above all, its revolutionary I-SHIFT gear shift lever.

With this new acquisition, VOLVO’s goal is to be able to offer better vehicle handling training to its clients whilst encouraging safe and efficient driving.
