Railway Simulation: New Train Simulator for Senegal

LANDER Simulation is venturing into Africa with the signing of an exciting project to provide a state-of-the-art railway simulator in Senegal. This represents a significant milestone as the company's first project in Sub-Saharan Africa, to be carried out in collaboration with our French partner ACIA.

Train simulator

The railway simulator will be installed at one of the Instituts supérieurs d'enseignement professionnel (ISEP) located in Thiès, around an hour from Dakar. This centre is the only one in Senegal to offer specific training in train driving, making this project a crucial step towards improving the quality of education in the country and expanding opportunities for trainees.

The train simulator will be equipped with a cabin adapted for driving locomotives and scenery recreating the line operated by ICS, one of the main chemical and mining complexes in Senegal. This innovative technology will allow trainees to gain experience of realistic situations and challenges they will face while operating trains, including signalling and emergency situation management.

Specialised training

The implementation of this simulator marks a major change in the way training is delivered at the centre, providing participants with a wide range of possibilities to acquire advanced train driving skills.

This is especially significant considering that many of the trainees come from backgrounds with limited resources, which makes this opportunity even more valuable for their professional development.

This project demonstrates a commitment by LANDER Simulation to support the Senegalese government's efforts to modernise education and provide state-of-the-art equipment to educational establishments.

We hope that this project will become a reference point for future initiatives in the region, demonstrating the transformative potential of technology in the education and training of professionals in the railway sector.
