Motorbike Simulators for the Basque Government
Motorbike Simulators for the Basque Government
Being a driving instructor is a career that will last for a long time. In Spain, there are approximately 8,000 driving schools, all of which require instructors, as around two million driving tests are taken every year. Despite it being a profession that is not affected by unemployment issues, it is currently facing challenges, as driving schools are struggling to find professionals in the labour market.
To address this problem, the Ministry of Education has created an intermediate vocational training degree entitled “Training for Safe and Sustainable Mobility”. In response to this new programme, through its education department, the Basque Government has decided to promote the teaching of this degree through the use of the latest available driver training technologies. For this purpose, three Vocational Training Centres located in the three Basque provinces will each have a motorbike simulator.
The aim of implementing these simulators is twofold. Firstly, to enable Basque students to learn how to drive properly and to gain valuable experience in order to improve their knowledge and put their driving skills into practice. Secondly, to encourage them to acquire the skills to design simulator-based training activities, as driving simulators are expected to become more and more commonplace in the future. There will therefore be a need for teaching professionals who are aware of the possibilities, applications, and advantages that this offers compared to traditional training.
At Lander Simulation & Training Solutions, we are very pleased to have been selected by the Basque Government to collaborate with Basque training centres at this new stage.
