The largest transport company in Uruguay inaugurates its first driving simulator.
CUTCSA, with a fleet of 1200 buses, will provide efficient and safe training to its drivers using a LANDER bus simulator.
Monday 28 April, Montevideo, Uruguay. The inauguration was presided over by the president of CUTCSA, who was very enthusiastic about the official presentation of the project: a bus simulator with pioneering technology, which will be used to train their drivers in accident prevention and other areas.
The event marks the beginning of an efficient digital training strategy and was attended by important political figures such as the Uruguayan Minister of Transport and Public Works, Luis Alberto Heber and the Mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse. The mayor reflected on the short and long-term benefits that this type of simulator can bring, noting that “the simulator will not only be used for the people who are being trained but will also collect data from the training process and will reveal information which will be extremely useful for reducing accidents and providing passengers with a better experience on the buses.” Minister Heber, meanwhile, highlighted the “the great technological advance that the experience in the simulator offers without risk for the driver”, adding that the simulators could be useful “even to obtain a driving licence”.
The bus simulator will offer a variety of highly immersive and customised scenarios for Montevideo and will allow training in dozens of situations on CUTCSA’s own buses, both those with traditional combustion engines and the new electric buses. The direct benefits of incorporating our simulation technology are expected to save 20% in fuel consumption, in addition to reducing the number of urban and interurban accidents, training in real scenarios involving dangerous situations that cannot be experienced without a simulator. In this way we hope to contribute to the safety and well-being of the people of Uruguay and we are delighted about the trust placed by the company and the government in our simulators.
