LANDER at the World Metro & Light Rail Congress in Bilbao

This week Bilbao Exhibition Center staged one of the major trade fairs and congresses in the metro, light rail and suburban transport sector, the World Metro & Light Rail Congress.

The programme featured more than 150 speakers from around the world, and representatives of more than 98 countries discussing the present and future of public transport. Most speakers dwelt on innovation and technology applied to this area, which are giving rise to a gradual transformation of the rail sector. There were also a number of round tables and a networking area in addition to the talks.

It could be said that, although the trade fair has been held on previous occasions, this year even those attending were surprised by the large numbers of professional people there. There can be no doubt that the considerable weight of the rail industry in the Basque Country made a substantial contribution to the success of the event.

CAF Group was conspicuous at the encounter as a Diamond Sponsor, and of course LANDER representatives were present at all times. Iñigo Esteban, Diego Sandino, Iosu Aguirrezabala and Jon Zumalabe, Area Managers in a number of different regions, were able to showcase the latest training simulator features to large numbers of international representatives, and simultaneously gained a detailed insight into the operations of many such companies.

Particular note should be taken of the representatives of various bodies which made use of the congress to come to LANDER's facilities in San Sebastián and take a first-hand look at the equipment. It has been a pleasure for LANDER´s team to receive all.
