The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore will train the future workers of Changi International Airport with driving simulators
Since it was founded almost 30 years ago, the commitment of the ITE to excellence, introducing technology in education and the creation of opportunities for its students has led this institution to become a benchmark of education in Singapore. Aware of the challenges that the new generations of workers will face, the ITE is determined to bring the work environments of the future into its campus through the use of cutting-edge technology.
Its latest acquisition, an airport driving simulator, will enable its students specialising in Airport Operations to deal with the complex mobility of vehicles in airports and become familiar with one of the market’s most advanced training tools. A tool, simulators, that airports around the world have installed to train their professionals and increase the safety of their operations within the airport.
The simulator, which will be installed in the ITE’s College East campus, will have a 3D replica of Changi International Airport including its runway, apron, perimeter area and, in short, all the elements necessary to achieve the full immersion of users. In addition to the recognition of the airport by driving in different weather and visibility conditions, the simulators will enable operations particular to the vehicles that work in the airport, handle faults or becoming familiar with the use of the radio and horizontal and vertical signage.
At Lander we’re eager to respond to the trust that the ITE and our partner, Precision Technologies, has placed in us, and we put our experience at their disposal to help train the future generations of airport workers in Singapore. Today, we strengthen our commitment to airport safety.
