The GVB tram company adds Track to Safety to its training tools
First launched in 2015, the Track to Safety gamified driver training tool is now being deployed by the train and metro operators Euskotren and Metro Bilbao and is now also attracting interest in the international market, with a pilot due to be launched by the Amsterdam urban rail operator GVB before the end of the year.
A city such as Amsterdam has major challenges to address including a growing volume of customers, a complex architecture, fleet renewal and a very large number of tourists. The city must pull out all the stops to tackle these challenges and has now added the Track to Safety tool following its recent acquisition of simulation equipment. This will enable GVB to take advantage of the potential of simulators to train its drivers in risk situations that are difficult to replicate in an immersive and realistic fashion. It will also use TTS as an additional tool to improve safety and customer service.
The international publication Railway Gazette, the only official international media partner of InnoTrans 2018, published an in-depth article on the development of the Track to Safety tool in its September edition. The article highlights LANDER's experience in the field of gamification, a technology which continues to attract the interest of companies and sectors around the world due to its potential for connecting with people in an effective and stimulating manner.
