GVB inaugurates the simulator training centre for the Amsterdam Metro unit

The event was attended by many representatives of the different GVB units as well as members of the Management Committee.

In his speech, Ramon Rippens (Director of Operations and member of the board at GVB) emphasised GVB's strong commitment to training and technology, both of which are key factors in guaranteeing an optimal service. He also stressed LANDER's commitment and flexibility in meeting GVB's needs, and thanked all the attendees for their work.

Vincent Pfeil (Metro Training Director), visibly moved, highlighted the major step that the acquisition of these simulators represents for the training of metro drivers and dedicated a large part of his speech to thanking all those who had made this project a reality.

The Lander representatives at the event, Alex Hernandez (Project Manager) and Iosu Aguirrezabala (Area Manager) also had the opportunity to share their views and emphasised that despite the difficulties encountered during the pandemic, the idiosyncrasies shared by the teams from both companies made this project one of the most satisfactory ones.

The GVB Metro training centre now has a training room comprising three multi-purpose simulators with 40.3 kilometres of real scenery on lines 51, 52, and 53 of the metro system. The simulation trains are from the manufacturers CAF and Alstom.

We at LANDER are extremely grateful that GVB has once again placed its trust in LANDER, after the Tramway Unit also collaborated with us to develop a complete training system with driving simulators, which they have been making the most of for over a year now.
