Fire and Rescue New South Wales in Australia incorporates a mobile simulator to train its drivers

FRNSW is one of the largest fire and rescue services in the world. It therefore faces numerous challenges when it comes to the training of personnel. One of them is to be able to provide homogeneous and quality training to hundreds of drivers distributed throughout a region covering more than 800,000 km2.

In order to respond to this challenge and avoid high travel costs for the staff, FRNSW has chosen to acquire a Lander driver simulator that will be installed in a 20-foot container that will allow it to travel throughout the territory. In this way, FRNSW will not only incorporate the benefits of a driving simulator into its training, but will be able to take that training to all the training centres in NSW.

The simulator will offer the possibility of selecting from a variety of heavy firefighting vehicles and scenarios adapted to Australia and will allow the free design of exercises by introducing specific situations that emergency services drivers face in their day-to-day work.

Lander will take care of providing not only the simulator but also the fitting out of the container so that FRNSW receives a turnkey product ready to travel. The result will be a mobile solution similar to the one Lander has provided for TfNSW, also in New South Wales, with train driving simulators.

We would like to thank FRNSW for putting their trust in us and allowing us to contribute to the training of those who risk their lives for others on a daily basis.
