Emergency Services Minister visits NSW firefighters' driving simulator
Minister for Emergency Services visits the Fire & Rescue New South Wales driving simulator
The New South Wales Minister for Emergency Services, Jihad Dib, has paid a visit to the Fire & Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) simulation equipment. This government agency is responsible for managing rescue, fire and hazardous materials services in the state.
Noteworthy for being one of the largest rescue agencies in the world and the most representative in Australia, the agency is staffed by highly qualified firefighters. In the year 2021-22 they responded to 125,583 incidents. Their primary mission is to provide efficient and reliable assistance in emergency situations, with the clear objective of saving lives and reducing the number of injuries that might result from catastrophic events.
The agency operates through an extensive network covering 335 stations throughout the state and has a fleet of 739 vehicles. A working strategy has been implemented that includes the use of a simulator for the training and awareness of future firefighters. This approach prepares professionals to deal with adverse situations on the road, effectively replicating conditions in the real environment.
With the implementation of our mobile classroom simulator, we offer the possibility of training firefighters from different locations without the restriction of doing this from a fixed place. Today, our technology benefits nearly 6,822 professionals in New South Wales who are committed to the safety and well-being of the community.
This breakthrough in the emergency and rescue sector, crucial in a territory as large as Australia, is a significant achievement for LANDER, demonstrating our firm commitment to the expansion and diversification of our heavy vehicle product line. The successful implementation of this project is both a source of pride and motivation for us to continue to work closely together on future initiatives.
