Simulator for RAPIDX: India's rail transport revolution
The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) or RAPIDX marks a turning point for urban mobility in Delhi. This high-speed train will connect India's capital with the surrounding major cities that form one of the world's largest metropolitan areas. This is a strategic project for India and its implementation represents a global milestone under the supervision of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).
LANDER will simulate the first 82 km corridor from Delhi to Meerut in its entirety. This includes the simulation of the logic of one of the most advanced railway signalling systems in the world, ETCS Level 2. The first 17 km section is expected to be inaugurated in the coming months and the entire line should be operational by 2025. This high-speed, high-capacity corridor will provide a fast, convenient, and environmentally friendly connection. With an average speed of 100 km/h and services being offered between every five and ten minutes, users will enjoy a service that is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.
LANDER has had the privilege of producing the driving simulator for the train manufactured by Alstom for the RRTS. This simulator features a replica Alstom train cab mounted on a six-degree-of-freedom motion platform. Thanks to this platform, drivers will have the same experience on the simulator as on the real train. This will allow trainees to enjoy the highest level of immersion possible. In addition, we have also supplied a replica control desk that will allow us to reach as many drivers as possible.
Training is a key pillar of this operation. Thanks to our simulators, drivers will be able to train in normal and deteriorated train and environmental situations in a completely realistic and immersive way.
We are very proud of this project and of contributing to revolutionising rail transport in India. LANDER would like to thank all the people who have helped us to make this simulator a reality.
