The hands that draw the simulators: 25 years of Dhemen’s industrial design
“This is the door to our studio; the one we walk through on a daily basis, leading through to a space in which ideas, conversations and projects flow and come together. As the days go by, they come to life. The estuary and mountain can be seen through the windows. Nature inadvertently finds its way into our studio, reminding us that behind all of this, behind each and every project we undertake, it is the people who matter. It is for people’s lives, and the improvement thereof, that Dhemen makes sense as a business and as a passion”.
This is how Dhemen starts the book that looks over its 25-year history dedicated to the design of industrial products. It has spent most of these years bringing simulator design to life hand-in-hand with Lander. From the first multi-purpose railway simulator to the latest product in the automotive range, Dhemen has managed to perfectly blend its essence with Lander’s spirit. Nowadays, Lander simply wouldn't make sense without them.
With more than 400 products on the market, 25 registered patents and various design awards such as the Red Dot Design Award - the Oscar of design prizes - Dhemen remains a down-to-earth, family-run company. Based in the town of Orio, where the family originally worked as cabinetmakers, the Esnal brothers, who founded the company in 1995, would never have dreamed that the things they used to imagine, invent, draw and build in their family workshop would become their profession years down the line.
Dhemen is now an international company which employs senior designers from multiple countries such as Germany and Belgium, lending a multicultural touch to their designs. Over this time, Dhemen has went from designing individual, standalone items to creating entire ranges of interrelated products. A clear example of this is the range of Lander simulators, where you don’t need to see a single company logo to know where it has come from.
We at Lander would like to offer our warmest congratulations to our partner for these amazing 25 years of history. Alongside them, we hope to continue adding countless kilometres of new lines and designs, each conceived to improve the lives of our customers.
