LANDER Eco-Safety, for efficient safe driving

LANDER simulators have developed over time thanks to the close cooperation established with customers by the team of engineers. Nowadays each detail of a driving simulator built by LANDER reflects over 300 simulators and dozens of people worldwide who have contributed their knowledge.

Among these details, on the website we recently mentioned LANDER's Checksim platform, a smart-check management tool for simulators, devised to avoid routine inspection tasks by those responsible for the simulators. LANDER's ultimate objective is to enable instructors to concentrate on training tasks which actually create value and help improve training with simulators.

This certainly does not only involve minimising the probability of machine error, but also means the simulator is provided with all the functions that enable the instructor to simulate realistic situations suited to each operation, and to measure accurately and easily key driving parameters from the point of view of road safety or energy consumption.

It is the latter objective that is covered by LANDER's new Ecosafety feature, which provides measurements, creates graphs and produces comparisons of the trainee's driving indicators. Data such as the driver's safety distance with respect to the surrounding traffic, fuel consumption, percentage usage of the accelerator, brake and clutch, number of braking manoeuvres etc. may be measured in either real time or in assessment mode. The tool also compares the trainee's exercise with another master exercise or a previous exercise, among other functions, displaying the differences in an extremely visual format through graphs. Instructors can also conceal or display any curves they wish to analyse, making this a powerful and user-friendly analytic tool.

This means the Ecosafety system can help the instructor perceive opportunities for improvement with each of the trainees, showing them real data from the exercise they have carried out. This experiential learning with measurable data helps enhance the effect of the instructors' recommendations or indications, thereby boosting professional drivers' awareness of their performance behind the steering wheel.
