Protección Mutual updates the hardware for the heavy vehicles simulator
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” – Lao Tzu. And the first step that Protección Mutual and Lander took together was in 2009. It was the beginning of a long journey where both companies have worked closely together to continuously improve the training of professional drivers.
The innovative and visionary character of the Argentinian organisation Protección Mutual de Seguros del Transporte Público de Pasajeros, led to them becoming pioneers with the introduction of computer simulation equipment for heavy vehicles. In this way the organisation was able to offer its insured companies a service to support the training of their drivers, using state-of-the-art technology.
But it didn’t end there. Protección Mutual have continued to make significant strides in this area and in these last 5 years have developed several updates to the software for their simulator with LANDER. In addition, last year also they also introduced one of LANDER’s latest solutions, the mobile simulator.
And last November they went a step further, updating the hardware of the first simulator they purchased. The most significant changes included replacing the projection towers with 55 inch 4K curved televisions and replacing the 7 old PCs from which the simulator was built with 4 new ones.
Although the project has had its complications, it has been a great success and Protección Mutual are very enthusiastic about the improvements, particularly highlighting the quality of the image and the new aesthetics of the simulator. At LANDER we are very proud of the work we have done together these last few years, and the way that the organisation has been able to take full advantage of a tool as powerful as the simulator. We will continue with them as a technology partner on this journey towards excellence.
