Wiener Linien includes LANDER in the history of Vienna trams
With its continued commitment to innovative solutions and excellence in training, Wiener Linien recently granted LANDER its future training centre with simulators for its more than 2,000 tram drivers, who together transport about 290 million inhabitants and tourists around the Austrian capital every year.
The project is a real challenge for LANDER not only on account of all the different novelties it involves —the result of the local operator's clear vision of training geared towards the future— but because it is currently one of the most widely-used trams and means of transport, measuring over 180 km in length with more than 1,000 stations. In addition, the Vienna tram network is one of the oldest in the world. It has been in existence for over 150 years, witnessing all of the events that have taken place in that time.
Both teams are now working on a project that we expect to help Wiener Linien achieve its ambitious goals and meet its training challenges while also allowing LANDER to continue incorporating innovation into its simulation systems.
