LANDER moves into the UK market with West Midlands
What is to be the first LANDER simulator in the UK now has an owner. LANDER is to develop a simulator unit to train drivers for the new West Midlands franchise, now owned by Abellio, JR East and Mitsui.
Supply of the equipment forms part of the train contract awarded to CAF by the Dutch company in 2017, and will consist of a cab replicating the driving station, an instructor station and an observer station. The train to be simulated is a new DMU manufactured by CAF. The simulator will include the lines on which the trains of this franchise operate, which will be simulated with the utmost realism and will include the country's own safety systems AWS and TPWS.
The UK is a mature and demanding market, but also a strategic and high-potential market that will be a milestone for LANDER. This order comes at the perfect time for LANDER, which expects to deploy its unique know-how and work philosophy, as well as the highest level of innovation that will guarantee West Midlands a generational change in simulators.
